Robert Emmons conducted studies at the University of California that tracked people who kept gratitude journals. He compared the gratitude group with a control group whose members didn‟t keep a journal of thanks. In the study, the journaling group had fewer physical ailments, reported feeling better about their lives as a whole, and expressed greater optimism about the future. They had more energy, enjoyed better moods, and were more outgoing than those in the control group. That‟s the healing power of giving thanks! Read about some of his research HERE.
Hope you enjoy a great weekend of Thanks-giving!
