One of the On Ramps to Spiritual Growth is life’s difficulties, crisis, and transitions. When we are going through trial and strain, the pressure usually strengthens the believer, resulting in maturity of our faith. That’s why some of the most Christ-like people you’ll ever meet, is those who have known affliction. The Bible says it like this…

“we also rejoice in our afflictions, because we know that affliction produces endurance, endurance produces proven character, and proven character produces hope.”

Romans 5:3-4

“Consider it a great joy, my brothers, whenever you experience various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. But endurance must do its complete work, so that you may be mature and complete, lacking nothing.”

James 1:2-4

One of God’s tools that aids our growth is His comfort extended through His people. We are commanded to “carry each other’s burdens” and to “pray for one another that we may be healed” (James 5:16). Paul tells us that we are to, “Rejoice with those who rejoice; weep with those who weep” (Romans 12:15).

We often hear testimonies like, “When I went through _______, my church was there for me.” In these times we sense the comfort of God through the love of His people, leading us to greater commitment to His purposes.

With this in mind, Bridge Church has established the Family Support Team. Our desire is to assure that no one goes through difficulty and transition alone. A few of the tasks this team takes care of:

>> Organizing meals delivered to people going through difficulty, illness, and transition.
>> Organizes our Parent-Child Dedication gatherings.

This team may be for you if you enjoy serving through hospitality, caring for the sick, helping people overcome odds. Connect with Allie Bosarge – allielynn@gmail.com if you’re interested in serving on the Family Support Team.
